Weta

I ( Chris) will be doing the post today, so sit back and watch the grammer mistakes fly by!

Its our first day in Wellington,  the house we are staying in is an old convent.  The owners  have converted it into a family dwelling but left alot of the old decor and charm of the convent, like lots of wood and the stain glass in a few places.

A sunny window seat which is a great place for your morning coffee and paper.

Today was the day I have been waiting for,  the day we were going to Weta Studios!
It started raining in the morning so we decided to go to the studio in the mrning and do our work in the afternoon.

Carrie's curiosity got the better of her.
" what do you got under here Mr. Uruk-hai"?

"NONE OF YOUR DAMN BEE'S WAX"!

"We dont trust's this foul thing, we dont, right precious"!

The grey wizard and the black queen!

They had some of the props and armour on display.

The Rohan armour looks amazing in person, so detailed and colorful.

The one ring!
I wish I would have taken a pic of the gauntlet you can kinda see in the top of this pic, thats Sauron's hand that was cut from his arm in by Isildor.

Carrie is invisioning her new toy collection.

They had the helmets from a few of the different types of soldiers,  I so wanted to put one on!

Carrie discovered a prop from an old favorite movie of hers.  'Dead Alive"
In New zealand its called " Brain Dead"

we walked around some of the buildings on the lot and even though we couldnt get in to where they were working we did see some cool stuff.  A sword just sitting in the window.

we poked our heads in to a warehouse were they were building some sets.

We left with a few art peices for our wall at home.

Then before we went home to do our work, we decided to go for a stroll in a Nature reserve.  This walk way is called the "canopy walk"  It was really high up from the forest floor near the tops of the trees.

Our project was to create a vegetable garden using bricks from an old chimney.

Done!

Tomorrow we take the ferry to the South Island.  It's supposed to be one of the most gorgeous ferry rides in the world.
