Waterfalls

Two days in the north was not enough to see everything, but alas, we had to drive back to Whangarei today to return our rental car.  We had time to stop at the Whangarei Falls on the way.

After dropping off the car, we caught a bus back to Auckland.  I finally got a photo of what I've been calling "gravity-defying" trees

Back in Auckland.  Time to find another rental car.  We've decided that freedom to explore is priceless, so we're renting a car for the rest of the trip. Luckily the one thing we've found quite affordable is rental cars.  But the cost of petrol evens things out in the end.  Still worth it to us!

Driving south from Auckland towards Raglan.  Countryside is slightly different.

We started our day with a waterfall, and thought we'd end with one too.

This is Bridal Veil Falls, just outside of Raglan.

It got too dark, so we didn't make it to Raglan Beach, but the waterfall was beautiful.  After this we drove through a massive thunderstorm on the way to our next hostel, in Waitomo Caves.
