Oct 8: We said goodbye to A&A today, after an awesome three days with them. We now head to our final destination, the Coromandel peninsula.
It was another rainy day. I think this might be our 7th rainy day? Not too bad!
There are road safety signs everywhere in NZ. Most are very basic, but this stretch of road had all kiwis! This one looks like a kiwi-pig from a distance.
Thought this one was quite graphic! Poor little kiwi.
We stopped at Waihi Beach for lunch.
Still raining, so we picnicked in the car.
Finally tried some L&P: "World Famous in New Zealand".
It was traditionally made by combining lemon juice with carbonated mineral water from the town of Paeroa, and is commonly used as a mix for alcoholic cocktails.
Tasted like Sprite to me.
