Back in "Surprisingly Perfect Picton" as our hostel hostess calls it.
There goes the 10:30 ferry. It was full, so we had to kill time until the next one.
So we went for a drive east of Picton.
Normally there is an explanation beneath the exclamation point... "uneven surface" or "slippery", but this was just a generic warning..."Be afraid... be very very afraid."
View over Oyster Bay towards the Cook Straight.
Marlborough Sounds. Just as pretty as the last time.
On the ferry to the North Island.
Three hours of podcasts for me while Chris read.
Still not sure what Hokey Pokey actually is, but it appears to be the national treat. It's in chocolate, ice cream, everything...
Driving from Hutt to Featherston. We weren't expecting miles and miles of crazy mountains.
It was steep and twisty.
Stopped in Carterton for supper. The small population of NZ is apparent in these small towns... there are no people! And everything closes at 4 or 5pm.
But we did find steaks... 2 for $25. Cha-ching!
Loving the photos and keeping up on your trip! Looks like a sheer blast!!
