These folks are serious larpers, in the process of creating a medieval village. Those containers behind Chris are full of costumes, rubber weapons, and other props needed for reenactments. Apparently some people even do real metal swordfighting, with full armour.
But no bloodshed for us... Today was all about baby animals.
Wee little piggies.
Funny little lambs.
Hungry calves.
Feeding time! (That's Abby, a fellow helper.)
This is one of the cuter lambs I've seen.
Me and Abby feeding the lambs.
That's Peppa Pig... she's one fat and grumpy pig.
I held the little piggie!
This is the medieval village. Not quite the "village" we expected...
One hut, built in the proper medieval way. In disrepair. But they have big plans for the future! Unfortunately, not while we're here.
So, we went wine tasting in Martinborough... known for their pinot noir.
Then Chris climbed a tree.
While they drank, I read this... "the ethics of feline aesthetics"
"There is something decidedly peasant about this work," wrote critic Ed Field. "The red claws, the skimpy undergarment, the over-reliance on lipstick and rouge. One gets the sense of a slightly deranged Bulgarian checkout clerk caught off guard while attending to her intimate toilette before a night out on the town."
Are all those baby animals going to grow up to be dinner??
ReplyDeleteThe two lambs are pets, but they have many other sheep that they will either eat or sell. Peppa Pig is a pet too, but the piggies and their mama are for food. They had another pig that kept getting out of his pen, so they ate him. I think they served some of him for supper, but I declined. I wanted to milk a cow, but even they are for sale or meat, not milk.
